Arada Bet App – How to Download and Install

Arada Bet has built up a following among players in Ethiopia largely on the strength of its mobile app, which handles sports betting in a lighter, faster package than the full desktop site. Right now that app is Android-only. This page covers the download and install process step by step, what's different for iOS users, and the app configuration details.

Android: how to download and install

The app isn't distributed through the Google Play Store. Instead, Arada Bet hosts the APK file directly and walks new users through a sideloading process:

1. On your Android device, go to Settings and allow installations from unknown sources — this is required for any APK that doesn't come through the Play Store, not something specific to Arada Bet
2. Visit the official Arada Bet website from your phone's browser
3. Download the APK file (currently version 1.2.2, 46.5 MB)
4. Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen installation prompts
5. Once installed, open the app and log in with your existing account, or register following the same steps covered on the Login & Registration page

Allowing installs from unknown sources is a standard Android permission, not a red flag specific to this app, but it's worth turning it back off afterward if you'd rather not leave that door open generally. Some Android versions phrase this setting per-app ("Install unknown apps") rather than as one global switch, so the exact menu wording can vary a little between phone brands and Android releases.

iOS: no dedicated app

Arada Bet doesn't have a native iOS app. iPhone and iPad users access the platform through the mobile version of the website instead, opened directly in Safari or another browser. Functionally this covers the same betting and account features as the Android app; what you lose is the app-icon convenience and any offline caching a native app might otherwise provide.

Creating an account for the app

The app and the website share one account system. To place bets through the app, you first need an Arada Bet account, created either directly in the app after installing it or on the website beforehand — either path lands you in the same place. Registration asks for a phone number, date of birth and password; see the Login & Registration page for the exact form fields and what each one is for.

Depositing through the app

Deposits inside the app go through Telebirr only, matching what we found on the desktop site. There's no card payment or bank transfer option built into the app that we could confirm. If you're used to apps offering several funding methods, this is a narrower setup — but it's also a single, familiar flow for the Ethiopian mobile-money market the app is built for. Placing a bet in the app

The betting flow mirrors the website: pick a sports event, choose a bet type from the odds shown for that match, enter a stake, and confirm the bet. The app supports the same multi-selection betslip approach as the desktop site, letting several picks combine into one ticket for a bigger combined payout. That means a single wager and a combination bet across several matches both work the same way in the app as they do on the full site, without a separate, cut-down mobile betslip to relearn.

Performance and design

On the Android devices we could observe it running, the app loaded quickly and kept a simple, uncluttered layout — closer to the mobile website's look than to a heavily animated native app. Data usage stayed modest during normal browsing and bet placement, which matters in a market where mobile data isn't always unlimited or cheap.

App, mobile site, or desktop site?

None of the three is a lesser version of the others in terms of what you can actually do — place bets, deposit, withdraw, browse promotions. The differences are about convenience and screen size rather than missing features.

A note on installing APKs safely

Uninstalling and reinstalling

Because the app isn't tied to a Play Store account, uninstalling it works like removing any other sideloaded app: long-press the icon and remove it, or use Android's app settings. Your Arada Bet account itself isn't stored locally in a way that gets lost with the app — it lives on Arada Bet's servers, tied to your phone number, so reinstalling later and logging back in picks up right where you left off, including balance and bet history.

Storage and permissions

At 46.5 MB, the install itself is modest by current app standards — smaller than most social media or messaging apps. We didn't get a full breakdown of every permission the app requests during install, but expect the usual set for a betting app: network access, and likely storage access for downloading receipts or saving preferences. Nothing in our testing suggested anything unusual beyond what a sportsbook app typically needs to function.

Keeping the app updated

Because the app installs outside the Play Store, it won't update itself automatically the way a Play Store app would. New versions have to be downloaded and installed manually from the site, the same way the first install worked. Checking back on this page, or on the site directly, before assuming you're on the latest build is worth doing periodically.
